Our Rock Band Camp was a huge success! 12 talented students worked over five weeks in private lessons and group-based coaching sessions with instructors Izzy Arlet, Ben Hartenstein, Dan Bergun, and Ryan Kantner. The camp ended with a concert at the North Park Lounge Clubhouse in Gibsonia with over 150 people in attendance!
The first group to perform call themselves The Sick Puppies featuring Tony Jones and Paul Wirtz on guitars, Qinn Jordan on bass, CJ Kolonay on drums, and Izzy on vocals. They performed Wild Thing by The Trogs, I Wanna Hold Your Hand by the Beatles, Great Balls of Fire by Jerry Lee Lewis, and You Really Got Me by The Kinks.
The second group dubbed themselves Squid's Got Jeans and featured Austin Mikus on guitar and vocals, Mike Klier on bass, and Luc Kaiser on drums (and backing vocals by three of our instructors). They performed Evil Ways by Santana, Gloria by Van Morrison, and Twist and Shout by Phil Medley and Bert Russell.
The third group to perform was S.H.E.E.P. (Spending Hours Eluding Endless Potholes) featuring Ray Myers and Jeremy Peters, Jake Beckstead on bass, Rachel Florian on vocals and keyboard, and instructor Ryan Kantner on drums. They performed Layla by Eric Clapton, Imagine by John Lennon, and Back in the USSR by The Beatles.
